Read on for the full Tatler interview…

Name? Audrey Vance
Name of business? Wedding Dress Ink
What does your business offer? A unique way of remembering a very special day with a personalised painting of the wedding dress and bouquet, created with inks on watercolour paper.
How did you come to set up your business? The first ink illustration was of my own wedding dress shortly after the honeymoon. I had it framed and hung it up, when friends saw it they started asking me to illustrate their dresses and the idea for Wedding Dress Ink was born.
Plans for the future? Currently excited to add more pins to the world export map hanging in my studio and down the road inviting new talented illustrators to work with me in building a strong brand and vibrant company.
Must have beauty product? The rose-scented body lotion from My Relaxing Time is a firm favourite, made by a local artisan producer in Co. Wicklow. Available from www.myrelaxingtime.ie €8 per 125ml

Most inspiring read? Greedily reading The E-Myth Enterrpise by Michael E. Gerber at the minute, hoping to soak up all his advice on ‘turning a great idea into a thriving business’.
Go-To fashion label for work? While drawing in the studio I like to keep things comfortable but for recent meetings I’ve been wearing relaxed dresses from the ottod’Ame label – available from Toil and Glitter boutique in Glastule, Co. Dublin or DKNY – available in Brown Thomas.
What has been the toughest moment in your journey so far? Has there ever been a moment where you’ve wanted to give up? Getting over a fear or failure was my biggest obstacle, thanks to three sessions with Dublin-based career coach Louise Nevin I’ve never looked back.
Best part about your job? My customers are always so happy to have found a unique gift for their friend’s wedding day, special anniversary and now Christmas of course, they are a joy to collaborate with.
Best piece of advice you’ve ever received? “Trust your gut” – came from a friend just at the right time, it’s advice I return to time and time again.
Tips for any budding entrepreneurs looking to start their own business? “Life is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing.” – Denis Waitley
Thanks Amie-Jo of Irish Tatler.
